May has not been the greatest month for updating.
Why? Well on top of the regular business (work, birthdays, etc) it was also the month that Kristin was leaving for France for her language classes. AND the month that she was moving out.
Yep, when I moved in at the beginning of February the plan was that she and I would live there together for a few months before she went to France. Then when she got back she would move to a more permanent residence and I would have the apartment to myself.
She's still moving out (which resulted into a lot less free time to draw things), but the plan no longer includes me having an apartment to myself.
The other explanation to my business has been helping the NEW room-mate move in.
Everyone. meet Rachelle.
Rachelle works at the same Coffee shop with Kristin and I. She is also our Corner Bakery Cafe buddy, fellow kitten adorer, and dater of a Dread-lock wizard who is a barista in a different shop.
(Fun fact: Barista's like to travel in packs)
Rachelle also lives in the same college area that my apartment is in, right down the street actually. The rent is decent for living in such an area, but still expensive if you're living by yourself and like eating food. So a few months ago Rachelle came up with the brilliant plan of moving in and splitting rent so that we could eat actual food.
Real food, what a novel idea.
So yeah, while Kristin has been packing and moving out of the apartment, Rachelle has been packing and moving IN. So the past few weeks have been pretty crazy.
This is basically just to catch everyone up to speed so that they aren't confused when Rachelle starts showing up a lot more than Kristin. Although Kristin has assured me that I am by no means rid of her. Apparently when she's back at college in the fall, she'll be at my apartment a lot. And I've been informed that this means that I'm not rid of surprise hugs.
In the meantime, I've been trying to sketch whenever I have free time and awake. I had a few more ideas for my graphic novel and a few blog posts roughly sketched out.
In other news, there are now four kittens in my apartment.
Rachelle has an outside cat name M.J. who is the mother of said kittens. Naturally, they moved along with Rachelle. We're only keeping two of them, but we're keeping the other two until their respective owners can retrieve them at the end of the summer.
Darn...Guess I'll have to cuddle with four kittens until then. I'm not sure I'll survive.
